Election of a Parish Councillor
for the parish of
Aldercar & Langley Mill

  1. A by-election is to be held for ONE Parish Councillor for the parish of Aldercar & Langley Mill.
  2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the Electoral Services Office, Town
    Hall, Market Place, Ripley DE5 3BT on any working day from the date of publication of this notice
    but no later than 4pm on Friday 2 October 2026. Office opening hours are Monday, Tuesday,
    Thursday and Friday 9am to 4.30pm and Wednesday 10am to 4.30pm.
  3. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Town Hall, Market
    Place, Ripley DE5 3BT, during the times stated above.
  4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 29 October 2026.
  5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on
    Tuesday 13 October 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
  6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration
    Officer at the Town Hall, Market Place, Ripley DE5 3BT by 5pm on Wednesday 14 October 2026.

  7. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this
    election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 21 October 2026.

  8. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the
    Town Hall, Market Place, Ripley DE5 3BT by 5pm on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Some

  9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration
    Officer at the Town Hall, Market Place, Ripley DE5 3BT by 5pm on Thursday 29 October 2026.
